Ohk so the much anticipated Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is finally released and I must tell you guyz, the people who have read the book will come out of the movie hall feeling very disappointed but for those who haven’t read it the movie might be OK. Its not just my opinion but most of those who have seen the movie have said that it was lacking in may\ny ways.

Of all who read the book, should know that the movie version is changed terribly by deleting the final battle between the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix and other Good Guys. It was unbelievable that Dumbledore was so quickly disposed of with no rise of energy in the scene at all. The emotional display of the involved characters was extremely underplayed during that point which should have been depicted as a critical point of climax.
In this story Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting jolie Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the campus is filled with Cupid ‘s charms. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simpering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, there are other events which are rocking the Wizarding World.
But what irritated me the most was that there was absolutely no funeral scene for Dumbledore. The type of honor given in the movie to the character is not at all appropriate for the passing of such a central figure to the series, especially when he is represented in the books as arguably one of the most powerful wizards of all time.
The movie felt disjointed as it skipped from scene to scene. It did not seem to flow well.
Of all of the books, The Half Blood Prince was one of my favorites. This movie going experience was the first that left me completely let down especially after the brilliant picturisation of the Order of Pheonix movie. I had thought that the movies would continue to grow in quality and quantity. This addition to the collection does not follow the pattern.
It is unfortunate it cannot be re-written and corrected so it could become another valued addition to the video library in the Harry Potter Series. But for the die-hard HP fans I would recommend a “dekkho”(you can go and see it!!)
I hope the next addition lives more closely up to fan, that is to our expectations.
