DESIGN & STYLE

Designed by the Fiat Style Center, the new car’s originality is summed up by elegant, distinctive styling, with aggravatingly smooth, simple, uncluttered lines that give the car a dynamic, harmonious look.

In line with the dictates of the new standards, the grille marks the dividing line between the bonnet and the front bumpers, and the latter taper off gradually until they meet the wheel arches. A ridge starts from the fog lights, which link up to the sides, and incorporates them, linking up again at the center with the lower air intake.

And finally, a rib between the headlight and the fog light makes the bumper look lighter and creates the same graphical motif. The sleek, faired headlights which extend towards the sides of the car suggest dynamism and a strong Italian imprint.

Proposed with a single body type, the car conveys an impression of solidity, robustness and roominess, which is confirmed by the generous dimensions.On the side the styling is cut through by a ‘slash’ which starts from the middle of the wheel arch and dissolves into the rear, emphasizing the car’s dynamic look.

The emphatic, robust, muscular wheel arches give the Fiat Linea a feeling of strength and solidity. And the same reassuring impression is conveyed by the rear end, with its elegant uncluttered line.

Interiors

The lines that run inside the passenger compartment are harmonious and well balanced with the external lines, which combine with the generous glazing to create a friendly, light-filled environment that guarantees excellent interior roominess, and more comfort than you might expect from a conventional 3-box saloon in terms of ergonomics and space for the driver and passengers.

Driving is made particularly enjoyable by the position of the pedals, the steering wheel alignment, the position of the armrest and footrest, the excellent manoeuvring of the gearshift and the perfect visibility of the instrumentation and the main controls.

The instrument panel designed by Magneti Marelli has a clear family feeling with the latest Fiat models, with large, clearly visible characters, while the graphics of the instrumentation make the information easily and immediately legible.

At night, the orange illumination allows the pupil to focus more rapidly when alternating between the dark of the road outside and the luminosity of the dashboard. The rear seat is homologated for three passengers, and comes with a fixed or 40/60 split squab depending on the version. The rear seats are also fitted with Isofix attachments for child seats, and head-restraints are standard equipment on the side seats.

FIAT & Microsoft’s ‘BLUE&ME’ SYSTEM

The top model of Linea will also be equipped with the innovative ‘Blue&Me’ system, based on the Windows Mobile technology, developed by Fiat Group Automobiles and Microsoft, which changes the communication, information and entertainment standards in the car, improving comfort and the quality of life on board.

The device is easy to use and Bluetooth technology allows you to make and receive telephone calls and listen to music simply and safely as you drive, communicating with the outside world from the car via your personal devices such as cell phones and PDAs.

After pairing your Bluetooth mobile phone with the system, which you only need to do once, and by downloading your phone’s phonebook, you can make and receive phone calls simply by speaking: all the commands can be given without taking your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road.

The Blue&Me device is built into the car and the control keys are on the steering wheel, so that you can search for a number in the phonebook by scrolling through the display on the instrument panel, or ‘mute’ the communication for a more confidential conversation.

With Blue&Me you can also listen to all your favourite music in the car, in MP3/WMA/WAV digital format. All you have to do is connect your Media Player to the USB port in a handy position in the centre of the dashboard: a USB pen-drive, an MP3-player or a smart phone, or even an I-pod.

When you connect the device to the USB port, the words ‘Media Player’ immediately appear on the radio display, indicating the music source you are listening to.

SAFETY

In addition to its excellent braking system, the Fiat Linea is also equipped with one of the most advanced ABS anti-lock braking systems on the market, complete with EBD electronic brake force distribution.

The latter distributes the braking force over the four wheels to prevent them from locking, guaranteeing complete control of the car in all conditions. The sturdiest components in the engine bay are positioned at a suitable distance from the bonnet, to allow the ‘skin’ of the bonnet to absorb the energy deriving from impact with a pedestrian’s head better.

Then the new chassis, which was designed to absorb any impact very effectively. And finally, the contribution made to occupant protection by the bodywork, the bonnet, doors and facia crossbeam.

Suzuki GS150R Review

So Whats’ New in the New Suzuki GS150R..??

* 5 Gears 6 Gears ..

* “Engine rpm indicator lights”

Looks:

The Suzuki GS150R actually is a proportionate and handsomely styled motorcycle. But don’t get me wrong when I say that this design should probably have come 3-4 years back.

In 2008, the Yamaha FZ16 has shown what impact “Distinctive Styling” can make on bikers/consumers.. both the Yamaha FZ16 and the Suzuki GS150R makes 15 PS max. power. But then the Yamaha (FZ16) definitely makes a biker sit up and ogle at it more than once.

The other hand the Suzuki GS150R has Styling elements which can be traced back to current India 150 cc bikes. For example, the “Rubber Gaiters” on the front forks shout Pulsar 150/180 (the current Pulsar 150/180 has dumped the rubber gaiters though). Even the headlamp which actually mimics the look of the headlamps from Suzuki’s International lineup of Super Sport Bikes and Super bikes, actually end up looking very much like the ones from the Bajaj Pulsars. The Front fairing does features pseudo air scoops though.

The side and tail panels also aren’t very distinctive in design and kind of reminds me of the Honda Unicorn. The tank, foot pegs, exhausts, rear and front fenders, black painted alloys and engine covers all somehow give away a feeling of a beast.. at least by looking at the pics/photos of the Suzuki GS150R. Maybe the bike would look distinctive in the flesh.

Equipment Levels

The Suzuki GS150R comes with a Digital Speedometer and a Tail Light which comes equipped with LED’s. The turn indicators on the rear are integrated with the tail light unit (much like the ones on the CBZ Xtreme). The Suzuki GS150R gets 6 gears which would be the second Indian Bike to feature one after the Yamaha R15.

The GS150R will comes in four colors:

* Black

* Red

* Gray

* Blue

Price:

The Suzuki GS150R would be priced at Rs 59,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), which would be on par with the current 150 cc motorcycles sold in India (Except the Yamaha FZ16 and R15)

The Suzuki GS150R is available for booking right now but would be delivered in January 2009. One can visit Suzuki Motorcycle India’s website for more details.

After the revolutionary YZF-R15 launched earlier this year, it’s the turn of the eagerly awaited FZ-16.Its also called as “Macho street Fighter“.Its a street fighter of yamaha, redifining the 150cc concept.

The stylish yet innovative FZ-16 has macho and muscular looks redefining the 150cc bikes segment. It keeps it simple, with street-tough naked styling and super-civilized power delivery and a specially designed riding position that gives riders extra confidence at lower speeds.The meters on the FZ16 are installed in a Full Liquid Crystal Display. The speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and other indicators are set in optimum position to keep the field of vision clear. Also, the engine starting signal is an example of the spirit of innovation.Yamaha FZ16 motorcycle is more a city bike, tuned for aggressive city riding than for pure top speed.The FZ-16 is estimated to cost around Rs. 70,000 ex-showroom. It is be available in three colours – Lava Red, Midnight Black and Flaming Orange

Our professional team’s review

We have driven many Indian motorcycles (pulsar, karizma, old CBZ, pulsar 220) but the bullet is one bike which thrills us every time we ride it. The ride, stability, pick up, handling is all perfect even though the basic design is some 50years old! We believe that this is the safest bike one can buy in India thanks to its solid weight, large wheelbase, and big tyres. To drive a bullet for the first time is one experience you will never forget and will almost always leave with a desire to buy your own!

At Rs. 65000, the Bullet is a real thing. Must ride it. If you don’t want to buy new, buy old. And do get one if you like adrenalin! Simply because this is a bike to drive and feel and not talk much about. One ride changes you thinking about driving. The Bullet is more comfortable than even cars for a driver.

Specifications

Engine : 4 stroke singe cylinder air-cooled engine

Displacement :346cc

..

The bullet, have to say, for heavy traffic & city congestion it may not be the greatest bike. It is one bike best suited for the open road where you can really open her up, feeling the wind on your face, and the monster giving out that unique engine sound u will definitely don’t want to stop riding it. Long distance driving is most comfortable on a bullet, and hours will pass before you get really sore.

Maxspeed

The thing we said on max speed is one thing that all the speed freaks have to hear . we did a drag race between our friend’s pulsar and a bullet… bullet was slow on start as pulsar gained advantage of its acceleration at lower gears but as pulsar reached top speed the bullet was gaining on us. Both had a pillion .. the pulsar touched 110 and the bullet kept on gaining as it overtook and gain much higher speed….. that was one hell of a race we could never forget

Maintenence
Another thing is that maintenance bills can add up from small things as you really need to have everything in perfect condition. As for fuel economy, never compare Bullet with 100cc plastic bikes. The real bullet is a cast-iron engine monster .If you really have interest in a bullet and have the patience to learn the art of starting it etc then you really should look into buying one.

What its proud owner says::

“Its been my dream for a long time to own a bullet standard 350..Although many people says that the bullet is a pain to start, unreliable, heavy, tiresome etc etc, one has to understand that the Bullet must become your own, it is really like a living thing, and responds to how you treat her. Service her regularly, don’t be too rough, keep the monster clean, ride like u r the king of the world… actually it does feel like u r the king of the world when riding a bullet.. Every other bikes feels like tiny little creatures running on road…and she will as reliable as any of other new age bikes on road but more pleasurable”
